A significant portion of our companies producing in the Turkish textile machinery sector consists of dyeing and finishing machinery manufacturers. 61 out of our 189 members, or 33%, produce in this field. Meanwhile, 32 members, or 17%, produce spare parts for textile machinery. Together, dyeing and finishing machinery and spare parts manufacturers make up 50% of the total.
All machines used in textile finishing processes, such as stenters, dyeing, washing, drying, sanforizing, brushing, shearing, quality control, packaging, spreading, and cutting machines, are manufactured locally with high capacity. Additionally, our producers operate in areas such as dyehouse and finishing automation systems, denim machines, laboratory devices, sensors, and test-measurement devices.
On the other hand, components for yarn and weaving machines, as well as parts for dyeing and finishing machines and knitting machines (including knitting machine needles), can be produced within the textile machinery sub-industry in our country.
We would also like to point out that there have been some promising new developments recently. The increase in the production of circular knitting machines, the start of local production of knitting machine needles, and the manufacturing of broderie embroidery machines for the first time are among these localization initiatives. Furthermore, significant progress has been made in the manufacturing of textile recycling machines. Two of our companies that succeeded in this field have established partnerships with two of Europe’s largest firms. Additionally, the production of AI-supported quality control machines has brought a fresh breath to the sector. In areas where we are more experienced—such as dyeing, washing, drying, and finishing groups—significant progress has been made in energy and water conservation and reducing environmental impact.
As TEMSAD, we closely follow all these processes and strive to fulfill our duties with the vision of increasing the number of "National Technologies Shaping Textile" in every field. The Turkish textile machinery sector, in parallel with the production and development capability of our country’s textile industry, has been growing over the last 30 years, especially with the cooperation and support of the Turkish textile sector in gaining experience and advancing R&D processes. In the last decade, in particular, with 22 R&D centers, 4 design centers, increasing shares in our target markets, and the preservation of our $1 billion export goal, we can say that there are still paths to take and opportunities to seize.
